Minors vs. pediatrics
Minors and pediatrics are sometimes used interchangeably, but they’re actually different.
- Minors: Individuals under the age of 18. They may or may not be current pediatric patients in your health system. It’s also worth noting that there are laws preventing direct marketing communication with minors.
- Pediatrics: Patients with encounters in your health system. They are usually minors, but not always, because some pediatric patients are over the age of 18.
We tend to use the term pediatrics because we’re focused on helping you acquire and engage patients with your pediatric services. However, we’ll use the term minors when needed to make age-related distinctions.
