Ask Ashley: New year, new marketing momentum
Categories: Ignite Growth Platform, Marketing automation
As email campaigns get rolling, I’ve been hearing a common question: What updates do I need to make to keep my Eloqua account running smoothly?
While turning the calendar is a time for fresh strategy, it also requires digital housekeeping. To keep your setup humming and outreach on track, I recommend focusing on these three key areas:
- Refresh your assets
Take a moment to update your footers and templates to reflect the current year. It’s a small detail that lets patients know your content is current and relevant.
-
Reset "always-on" campaigns
If you have campaigns that run year-round, remember that an individual can only go through an Eloqua campaign once. To reach those same people again in the new year, you’ll need to launch a fresh version of the campaign.
I suggest recreating both the campaign and its audience within Ignite Growth Platform. This ensures clear tracking and reporting, allowing you to easily see the difference between last year’s results and the current year.
Check for any Wait steps in your active campaigns that use specific dates. If those dates have passed, contacts won’t stop at those waits. - Maintain your sender health
Given the sender requirements from Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft, it's crucial to ensure your DMARC, SPF, DKIM, and DNS certificates are current. Be sure to coordinate with your IT team now to verify that auto-renewal is set up for all certificates and no expirations are looming.
By handling these essentials now, you’re setting up your campaigns for a seamless, high–performing year.
