We household patient data with consumer data. Learn about Head of Household assignment rules.

Consumer records are not available for minors; therefore, minors are not included in consumer data.

Here’s an example:

  • Anna Schmidt is a minor, and is also a pediatric patient at ABC Children’s Hospital.
  • She lives with her mother Vicky Reynolds who is not a patient at ABC Children’s Hospital.

If the system receives Anna Schmidt's patient data, and Vicky Reynolds' consumer data, it might attempt to make a match between them because they reside at the same physical address.

But the match would not succeed because these 2 individuals do not have the same last name. Therefore, they would not be grouped (householded) together in the data warehouse.

It’s important to recognize situations like this in which matches may not be made because the system currently excludes data associated with minors by default unless the minor is householded with an adult head of household to ensure that they are not communicated with directly.

And this means some minors and pediatric patients may not be reflected or available throughout the platform, from research and planning, to target audience creation, to campaign reporting.
