FAQ: Marketing automation
Question
How does Ignite generate the “integration_key” value for a record? And does the integration_key value remain with that person’s data for different imports?
For example if we pulled a list of contacts with a certain set of parameters from Ignite that contained the record for "Danny Smith," and then we pulled a different list with a different set of parameters that also contained "Danny Smith," would he have the same integration_key value in both lists?
Answer
The "integration_key" is unique identifier generated in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) by set of automations for linking records between Ignite Growth Platform (IGP) and SFMC. It is assigned to a contact and remains consistent across different data pulls, even if the list of parameters changes. If Danny Smith's record appears in multiple audience syncs with differing parameters, his "integration_key" should remain constant based on match rules (Integration_key & Email, HG-ID & Email, HG-ID & No Email, Email only), ensuring continuity and accuracy in tracking and marketing.
