Release notes: October 3, 2023
Improved matching for better targeting
As part of our 360𝆩 profile mastering, we’ve updated the person matching rules to improve the data available in Ignite Growth Platform.
What’s changing
Person records with similar demographics, but different genders will now match and merge into one record. This applies specifically to records with Unknown gender vs. Male, Female, or Non-Binary.
Previously, nearly identical records (as shown below) were still considered separate if the genders differed.
| Person ID | Name | Address | Phone | Gender | DNS |
| 999888 | Bob Underhill | 121 Velvet Leaf Dr., Madison, WI | 608-555-1212 | Unknown | Y |
| 444333 | Bob Underhill | 121 Velvet Leaf Dr., Madison, WI | 608-555-1212 | Male | N |
With those records now merged, you can create a target audience with fewer duplicates and reduce the risk of:
- Sending the same message to the same person more than once
- Accidental outreach to persons who should've been flagged as Do Not Solicit (DNS)
What’s next
The improved rule applies to any new person records submitted for ingestion, and we’ll also be reprocessing all previously mastered person records to allow for additional matches/merging.
The reprocessing will occur over the next few weeks, and should be completed by November 30, 2023. As some duplicate records are merged, you may notice:
- Existing audiences: Smaller lists
- Existing campaigns: Decrease in the reported persons who completed a form or another call to action
