Question
Why don’t the email list counts in Audience Insights always match the counts synced to marketing automation?
Answer
Our email validation process can explain this discrepancy. When new data is submitted by your health system, we automatically remove any email addresses that don’t meet the standard format: <username>@<domain name>.<extension>.
Acceptable format
The following emails are in the correct format and would be retained in the address list:
Invalid format
The following emails would be removed from the address list since they are invalid:
- @bob.com
- junderhigmail.com
- lazy-susan@org
- none
This is the same validation rule used in marketing automation tools like Eloqua and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, so you should see more consistent email counts between Ignite Growth Platform and those integrated solutions moving forward.
