Question

Which data source provides solicitability information?

Answer

Since more than one data source may contain "solicitable" data, there is a source hierarchy in place to determine which source takes precedence for different audience types.

For email

  1. Marketing automation (e.g., Eloqua) is considered first
  2. SOLICITABILITY file is next
  3. Other sources last

For phone

  1. Call center file (e.g., LVM) is considered first
  2. SOLICITABILITY file is next
  3. Other sources last

For all other channels (e.g., direct mail)

  1. SOLICITABILITY file is considered first
  2. Other sources last

Overall considerations

  • If there is conflicting "solicitable" data in sources of the same hierarchy tier, "do not solicit" (DNS) takes precedence.
  • If a user has manually opted-in or opted-out, this overrides the "solicitable" data.
