Question

Is there a crosswalk of Ignite Service Lines with my organization's service lines?

Answer

A crosswalk does not exist because the Ignite Service Line model uses a contextual based logic system to assign patient encounters to a service line. The relationship between diagnosis and procedures is complex and cannot be explained simply as a one-to-one relationship.

Using an EKG as an example, traditional service line categorization sees the procedure and categorizes based on the “what,” assigning the encounter to Cardiology. Ignite Service Lines consider the context (e.g. fetal heart monitoring, electrolyte imbalance, etc.) and will assign the EKG based on the “why” (Obstetrics, Endocrinology, etc.).
